This week ds had a sheet with a description of an Orthodox Church interior from which he had to sketch a picture and label it. A challenge in itself for him. However then he was supposed to write about the differences between this and Western Orthodox. He insists they have done nothing in class about the Western Church yet nor does he have a text book or suggested references to look at. The internet just throws up erudite doctrinal and theological issues. Is it me or is this beyond your average 9 year old ?

Blimey, thats a bit much! YANBU. Can you have a word with the teacher, just to make sure he's got his facts right? Not that I'm doubting him, but you know what they're like!

His diary , signed off by his teacher, says Complete the worksheet by Thursday !

Ah! Thats a problem then! I'd still stick a note in his contact book, saying that he/we did our best, but really struggled to find information basic enough for him to work from.

lol. I know this worksheet!

When I used it I had various church interior images (including Orthodox natch) for a 'what's the difference' type game. Later, they could use appropriate image to help them with their picture. Very hard to do as homeowrk!

Look up 'church interior' or 'orthodox church interior' on google images. That's how I sourced my pix I think.

voila if you just want to get it done

note luxurious materials, many many icons on gold leaf, chandeliers, candles. That's a screen to the rear with a door in it where only the priest can go.

i would write in diary " can i have a word about this please!" and get the teacher to say to you that they haven't donr it in class

at which point you can pull this face and say i though you were supposed to teach him here - rather than me doing it.
