Maths workbooks y4

DS is ahead in maths so although he loves working through problems and differentiated work, the Oak Academy lessons we are now on are too slow, too repetitive and turning him right off.

I might try some workbooks instead so I can explain concepts but he can basically just crack on at his own pace.

There's lots of choice - are any better than others??

I like cgp.

I also like CGP.

We also used to turn to the Khan Academy website for anything we were struggling with, as they have lots of really good videos.

You might also look at nrich and the Primary Maths Challenge, to add depth, if he likes the challenge of doing puzzles in maths.

Year 4 Maths Targeted Practice Workbook (Collins KS2 Practice) Paperback and Year 5 book are both quite substantial with a bit of stretch.
Collins Problem Solving and Reasoning Ages 7-9: Prepare for school with easy home learning (Collins Easy Learning KS2) use a range of skills and are challenging.

I'd suggest "Maths - No Problem!" Both textbooks and workbooks are fab. Just by chance I've got workbooks galore this year, and I prefer these ones to CPG and "Target your maths" by Pearce.

We bought the Pearson Power Maths books from Amazon. Set of 3 books which cover the annual curriculum, 150 pages each book and £2 per book (£6 for the whole set).
