Friendship dilemma

During lockdown our daughter had issues with a child in her class sending her unkind messages online. It was obvious from the outset that this child was quite needy & ‘controlling’, very sweet and kind when our daughter was in her good books, but as our daughter started to pull back a little..the nastiness started. A highly inappropriate post was sent, which I had raised with the teacher out of concern, and had hoped that would be the end if it. However since then, this child has fabricated a story around the post, and has been spreading it around to make it look like my daughter was the culprit. We told our daughter to stand up to this girl if she continued to make unkind comments at school...call her out and tell her to stop being unkind. Yesterday as this girl was passing by, she pushed my daughter from behind, then laughed as my daughter limped off, making sarcastic comments about how ‘sensitive’ she was for being hurt. As it was only a small push..and somehow garnering support from the other children who had come over to see what had happened. Is this something we should take to the school? Or will it make it worse as our daughter is adamant she doesn’t want this taken further, as they only have a few weeks left and she’ll be moving on to secondary soon.. Would really appreciate your thoughts 🙏

Raise it. It’s bullying.
