Primary schools in Bristol

Hello everyone, we are looking to move from Cardiff to Bristol. Our little boy (4 years in August) is due to start Reception this September. We are open to private or state - he is very active so somewhere good with a nice outdoor space or forest school would be great! He had been getting on great in Cathedral School in Cardiff — great private school with lots of opportunity to learn through play and a forest school - looking for something similar. Also looking for a nice area - village feel with lots of parks and a couple of nice coffee shops. Thanks all! T.

Clifton, Cotham, Redland are lovely but all very expensive areas, as is all of Bristol to be honest.

I don't have children so don't know much about primary schools i'm afraid.

Thanks for the tips! I will check these neighbourhoods

What kind of budget do you have if you're looking to buy?

Also, will you or your husband be commuting? And do you want to live in the city, of would you prefer a smaller village or town on the outskirts?

Hi there, thanks so much for helping out on this out. It’s a puzzle for me. We want to rent first and buy in a year (£600-700k budget). When things get moving again, one of us will be in London or Cardiff once a week so would like not to be too far from train. When we do buy a house, I don’t want to move schools and preferably not neighbourhood to keep things consistent for my son. Would be open to a part of city with access to nature nearby and not too crazy busy with village feel or town/village but not too remote as we will be blow ins with just one child - love the idea of him being able to play on street with neighbourhood kids (of course with supervision!). Maybe I should start with finding the right school.. Thanks so much! T.

Maybe look in Winterbourne or Hambrook, easy access to M5, not far from Parkway station but easy access to some beautiful countryside. Really good primary schools as well.

That’s super helpful thank you!
