Reception in September when would we hear anything?

We had our email of a school reception place on April 16th as expected, but there was no link or anything we had to do to accept it, so I assumed it was all just automatic and we'd hear from school in due course.

It's been suggested I should phone the school as we've had nothing from them, to check DS is on the list and we've not missed out on any communication.

I feel it's a bad time to call the school when they have other stresses and strains to deal with and don't want to bother them unnecessarily (and get a reputation for being a pain before my son has even started!)

So, has anyone else with a September starter heard anything directly from school or had to 'accept' the place when it was offered? The person who thinks I should call has no primary children so not up to date. Would be grateful to know if it's worth a phone call or not.

Oh and our branded school uniform supplier has a huge wait on. They aren't even guaranteeing uniform ordered now will arrive on time. If there's branded stuff get it ordered.

Our school for the children back is saying do your best with the uniform but they understand you might not have been able to get it if they've grown out of things and because it was uncertain if they were starting or not. Also they realised you might not have enough and be wanting to wash things each day. I imagine this might continue. The school can't expect everyone in the correct items if they haven't even informed you yet and suppliers have a delay. Some parents might have financial issues buying it over the summer. They may need to be more flexible. Don't panic!

We had to contact the school by email within 14 days of receiving the offer to confirm if we would be accepting the place. We did that. The school replied to us thanking us for confirming that we would be accepting the place. And said they would be in touch when the school reopens.
We went to the open day so already have all the info about uniform. Will wait to hear from them.

Just catching up with replies, thank you all. School have confirmed he's on the list and they're sending packs out next week. Feeling reassured.

That’s good news @Thecomfortador. Despite having done 3 school applications, I always get The Fear that I have done something wrong. My life is one missed email or misread email from free fall at the best of times!

Gosh I can imagine bike and I guess you can't rely on it being the same as the previous year. I'm going to have to up my organisational skills I think - pin boards, folders, pens that work..(or the inbox equivalent).
