Could anyone give me views on St Michaels and Sevenoaks prep, wally hall, Granville and New Beacon please?

All OK. Focussed on high academics. Some single sex, others not. Depends what you are looking for.

I am looking for a school for my DS and DD and torn between whether they should attend co-ed or single sex. Academics is a key factor for both

It will seem a long way off, but it might partly depend on what your plans for secondary are. All through schools may be less focused on secondary entrance exams. I believe some preps have a better reputation for Kent Test, some for independent 11+ and some for 13+. If you're hoping for grammar, do you have the funds for private secondary if you don't get a grammar place, and if not, what's your Plan B school? If you're planning on state secondary, you might want to be thinking about secondary catchments, for both grammar and high schools. There are lots of very good state primaries in Sevenoaks too - are you definitely sold on prep? The co-ed question is an individual thing - personally I wouldn't have considered SS even if we had gone to a prep, but lots of people feel very differently.
