My son's primary was inspected in February- report still not published wondering why

Just that really. Ofsted inspection was in February but still not published on the website. I'm impressed with the teachers but I wouldn't be that surprised if it was unsatisfactory- its a school that's better on helping kids be kids than on pushing everyone to meet their potential. Is the delay likely to be a bad sign?

many thanks

A quick google says usually 4-6 weeks but these are not usual times.

It might be in dispute. Perhaps it was rated good, but the senior team felt they deserved outstanding. These can take a while to sort out.

Perhaps staff have been off sick or in self-isolation, or working reduced hours due to childcare or caring commitments, or home working isn't an option. Or maybe they've been aligned to work on other Covid-19 contingency planning?! In these current times lots of people are either not working, working reduced hours or having to pick up other duties, so shouldn't be a surprise at all that things are taking longer than usual.

It won't be published until school reopens.

They're not publishing reports until the school is open. It mustn't have quite been ready at the end of March.

Do you know how many days they were there? I believe that if it is changing rating, or requires improvement anyway, they are there 2 days.

School will know the outcome and can share if they wish but with all the additional work and queries may just be waiting for it to go live as and when.

My DCs school was also inspected in February. They found out the results last week and have emailed parents with a brief overview but said no official publications will be made until some level of normal schooling is resumed.

As said above, Ofsted have said they aren't publishing reports until the schools are open to all pupils (they can choose to publish the results when they know as said above, but have to say it's not final) - see www.gov.uk/guidance/ofsted-coronavirus-covid-19-rolling-update#all-routine-inspections-suspended

All inspections are 2 days now under the new framework, including s8 inspections of Good schools, so you can't read anything into the length of it!

thanks a lot that's reassuring
