Hi

Looking for a school for my DD to start at in reception or Year 1. Been looking at a few different Indies. We really like the look of Dolphin School in Hurst near Wokingham. Lovely ethos and lots of trips, seems very relaxed and warm. However I did notice they are selective?

Surely being academically selective conflicts with their kind/nurturing individuals ethos? They say they accept children who "fit" and would "be happy" there. Just seems strange and against what they preech?

AIBU? Other than that it looks lovely

Dolphin aren’t selective. They just want to make sure they’ll be able to meet the needs of our children and if they don’t think they can they’ll be honest. It would be daylight robbery to take our money, accept our children then not be able to cater adequately. We find Dolphin a very accepting school. They have helped us enormously with our DS.
