My DD just got an offer at Darrick Wood infant School. I guess we also have the option of him getting into St James Catholic School as he is baptised catholic.
Just wondering what parents think about this 2 schools? which is better and why pls?
We have till 30th April to accept or decline the offer. Thank you.

Why do you think you have the option of the other school?

Both schools will have made their offers today, and if you want a place at a school you weren't offered you need to go on the waiting list.

It's always advised to accept the place you are given, in case you don't get another offer from a waiting list.

I was told to call Bromley Education, was not sure actually.
We wanted to know about them as we are new in the area.
They are both outstanding from what we read and yes we will have to accept what we are given before making calls to see what is possible.

Yes - definitely accept, then talk to them about getting on waiting lists if you prefer another school. If you decline, you could find yourself school less in Sept!

Hopefully someone local will know more about the specific schools for you.

My children attend DWJ I - very good school - very caring and the way they have managed the ongoing crisis has been amazing. My child has made excellent progress and had support put in place when required. He will be leaving on target which is fabulous - he was simply one of those children who clicked later.

Was your offer DW and not SJ?

If so, SJ is only one form entry. It’s unfortunately not as simple as just being baptised. You have to go to mass every week, volunteer, be part of the church community etc. Do you?

I’d advise that you see where you are on the waiting list but as it’s such an oversubscribed, small school I think your chances are slim. DW is a great school.
