Apps for literacy year 2

School has been really helpful in providing ideas for school work and I have signed up to twinkl and there is loads that we could do....
But DS is capable but pretty unwilling. I did get him to do a little each day last week, but what he will do is educational apps on the iPad. In fact he would do them all day!! There are loads of great apps for maths but are there any ideas for ones for literacy?

DS is in Y2 and we have just got Doodle English & Spelling (and Doodle Maths). I’ve also got the same apps for DD (Year 5). I’m a teacher so I’ve been teaching one and getting the other to go on Doodle and then swap over!

I’ve been pretty impressed so far. They do a placement test and then it adapts to their strengths and weaknesses. I get lots of info on the parent app and I can set ‘extras’ if there are things I want them to work on (all aligned to the curriculum). I think we will keep using them even when the schools are open again as it’s just ten minutes a day and it’s good practice.

Will definitely have a look at that, thanks for the tip.
