Am doing name tag sewing atm and hoping for no sports socks

Mine just wear their ordinary school socks with plimsolls. And I haven't sewn name tapes in socks since ds1 was my PFB going into reception. Life's too short. Just train them to tuck socks in shoes when they take them off.

I guess you'd need to send separate socks if you had a dd in tights...

DD's PE bag stays at school for half a term so I just chuck a clean pair of normal white ones in when it comes home.

And I also haven't done name tags in socks since DD was in reception. Actually I don't do them in anything now and just write on the label.

I just tend to think now...so they lose their socks...who cares...they've got more at home and they're not expensive anyway. I label everything else (proper sewing all the way round too )

Not a chance - mine went back last week and all their labels are done. I loathe sewing.

DD has to wear grey knee length socks or tights for school and white ankle socks for PE. I don't name the socks as they are so cheap from Asda it doesn't matter if they get lost.

I recomend a fine tipped permenent marker pen for labeling clothes bugger sewing or iron on ones just write on the label, even a biro will do but you will have to re write it regularly.

Wear their own socks for boys.

DD has pair of white ankle socks in her PE bag for when she's wearing tights.

DS (jnrs) works in bare feet oh joy!

No nametapes in socks (except DD's extra pair) as they don't take em off. No names in pants either
