40 other children!..two classes one with 21 one with 20 in..now she was fine totally confident, but im thinking logistically about toilets, lunch time and any other needs any of them particulary my dd may have, she one of the youngest to go up as school just changed intake, although very 'grown up', but dinners and selecting, cutting up without it flying off onto floor, not being able to sit with her friends etc..arghh...im in meltdown!

Hey, mine went with 90 yesterday....he was fine.....

Mine may be about to start with 120 but I'm confident they'll all be set up to cope. It will be fine don't worry.

the dinner ladies hang round to help with cutting food she will love it I rekon!!

It'll be fine. I drove myself nuts about all this too when mine started. How would they manage when they still need me to help them so much?

I don't know how they cope with all those children at school but they do it admirably and somehow it seems to work.

They even get them changing in and out of pe clothes. It's amazing. They do help them where necessary but eventually they're doing it by themselves. Tights were always the worst for dd though. We gave up on them for a while. And while I liked her in a school pinafore, she had a skirt in the end because she found it easier.

Don't worry. Your dd will have a fantastic day I bet, and have loads and loads to tell you later. If she runs into a problem just go over it a few times to sort out a plan of action so she knows how to manage. I always bash into mine 'don't be afraid to ask'.

In the end they learn to be quite independant. At school that is...they still seem to need me to do it at home though...hmmm

aw thanks everyone, i though 41 was a high intake, seems not..feel better now, shes really bright and WILL ask for help, sometimes a little quiet, but going by her confidense today, i think she''ll be one of the louder ones..so proud of her

nice to know they expect them not to be able to cut up/get ready them selves totally.cheers...only 2 1/2 hours to go

our school does this, it's great I think 1 teacher/TA per 10 children!!
