Hi Everyone, We are moving to RH10 and plan to put our boys in either of the above - does anyone have any comments or experiences of them - good or bad?

Copthorne Prep. I withdrew my children from Lingfield College as they were clearly having a terrible time. My complaints fell on deaf ears, in fact we were treated with contempt.

It depends on your children's personalities. Copthorne Prep is much more nurturing than Lingfield.

Lingfield College has been a very good all-round school for my children. I have had 3 there with mixed abilities at prep and senior. Our brightest has been stretched throughout doing one GCSE two years early and our youngest, with some learning challenges, is being well supported. The head can have a too honest and awkward style that is not to everyone’s liking but most parents recognise he is running things well. He made a lot of changes during his first few years that caused concern, but it has turned out pretty good. In recent years there has been low staff turnover, and the staff appear very happy which rubs off on the children.

One of our friends’ children went to Copthorne and they were happy there. However, the recent problems with GSCE plans have caused a lot of upset and forced the head into early retirement. I know some parents have transferred to Lingfield.
