First week at school for dc ? Over here for cuddles

Well i dropped my ds off at 9 this morning (also dds 1st day at high school ) so am feeling rather choked up. He was only 4 in July so teacher has agreed to complete flexibility until he is 5. As we always spend Fridays doing lovely things together we are going to continue doing so until he is 5, so he is only going 4 days a week. The school is everything i wanted from a school. 53 pupils-country school with goats in the garden and overlooking a beautiful lake. Fabulous ethos . I really hope he makes friends as he doesnt know anyone yet really.
I just cant belive where the time has gone.
How is everyone else getting on ?

my dd starts reception thursday, am filling up now. tried her uniform on her yesterday..she looks so beautiful but so small in it

We tried dss on last night-photos and everything.Even dds filled up.His trousers are way to big ! x

had to take dd's trews back as shes grown about 2 inches over summer!..good job i bought skirts too!, even though she will come home looking like shes had her knees/tights cut to ribbons!

My ds first day tomorrow - fortunately there is one little girl going from nursery (private) he knows so they have an anchor

Dd4 starts reception on Friday but the Nursery is a school one so she knows some of the children and the lay out of the school already. They have the same uniform in nursery so its almost like she is just going up a year.
Full time from November and thats when I will need cuddles. Although all day with ds1 will be filling my time

My twins start a new school tommorow though into year 3 and it's their 8th birthday!! I will cry, they will cry, they will have a fab time, I will miss them..... only for the 1st day though

My ds started this morning, he was fine it was me crying! although i didn't let him see. He doesn't know anybody really as we are half an hour from school, he did twelve mornigns at the end of last term, but even so. The one good thing to come out of it is that the house has never loooked so clean! anything to stop clock watching until 3.30. Hope he is ok. when i dropped him of he asked me to walk to classroom, when we got there he just walked straight in and didn;t look back or even say goodbye. .

Have just taken DS in (pm only for 2 weeks).

I tried to exit descrietly but DD started wailing 'My brother' hysterically as if we'd sold him to the white slave trade.

Went down hill a bit from there..

My dd starts on Thursday. She turned 4 in July She has hardly mentioned it so i have no idea what she thinks of the idea. She hardly knows anyone in her class although we managed a play with another little girl on Friday so at least thats one familiar face. I will be in pieces...and I've no plans for a coffee with anyone for a shoulder to cry on.. All our friends start next week, so seeing them would only rub salt in Think I'll be in a cleaning frenzy - at least shes only going part time this term.

is my ds's school unusual then - they are starting full days straight off

tomorrow is his first day... i still need to iron his jumper n tshirt and pe tshirt... i'll do it in a mo i think and have it all set out for him - keep the mornin calm as possible

is this best? i spose noone is around now to answer!

Hows it going everyone ?
Ds`s second day today.REALLY tired-he only turned 4 in july and we spent the summer trying to drop his 3 hr daytime sleep !
He slept all the way home yesterday and i left him in the car on the drive for an hour before very stiff neck woke him up !
He seems fine.
I am so lonely here today without him, but house is clean,lovely dinner prepared and even had time to do my roots !

DD2 started today, just an hour while the parents had a workshop (boring considering it all the same info from when dd1 started).

She goes in tomorrow for the morning without me - whoohoo! I cant wait, ill be skipping home! My day to myself, to come and go as i please, to do with what I want. Total luxury imo.

I wont miss her, i know the school day soon ends even when they are full time, 3pm is the middle of the afternoon fgs. She will soon be home again and my prescious peace and quiet will be over.

Dont get me wrong i love dc to bits, but its lovely when they are out for the day. I dont really get this being upset about it thing that lots of you experience. And my keeness is rubbing off on dd2 - she is as excited as i am

I have a feeling I will suddenly live in a very clean house too Only having one all my friends will be out most days at toddlers etc so i'll be twiddling my thumbs a bit. Thinking of some sort of classes

And my dd was 4 in July too and still naps. Have kept her awake today so she goes to bed early so will be up early enough for school. But feel sure she'll sleep all the way home.

dd started this morn..only an hour to go before i can set off to collect her(they finish at 2 for first couple of weeks!)..feel like my arms been decapitated, but i didnt cry!!!

i've got ds's home visit tomorrow (merrily trying to tidy up from the holidays ), and then he starts part-time on Monday. He goes to full time after 2 weeks . The house will seem very quiet after having a dc in it for the last 9 and a half years.

But i am thinking of all the me time that i will be getting as well . Somehow think i will take to it easier than i should.

Well the home visit went ok, inspite of the fact that he told his teacher that his favourite dinner was pizza . Wouldn't mind but we really don't have it much above twice a year (still maybe he's telling me something).

He has gone into school this afternoon for the first time, and looked like he had been doing it for years. But then he has got a brother and sister there so he probably feels like he has iyswim.

I was ok, think it will be when he starts full time. I did get a lump in my throat when he put his uniform on for the first time, and he looked down at himself, gave a little shiver and said "oooooh, look at me! I look weird." He then looked at me and said "but its ok mummy" . He was very excited.
