8+ exams

Hi. I am looking for some feedback into the 8+ exams and process. I am in a dilemma. When we moved to London, we were supposed to be here only for two years and now things have changed. My son who is quite able and capable doesn’t go to a prep school and I fear may be behind because his current school doesn’t prepare for the exit. Have I missed the boat as I hear that there are very few seats at 8+ compared to 7+. While I understand the exams are quite competitive, I want to have a realistic view of what some of the parents think might be the best way to prepare given my situation and if it is worth giving it a shot as seats are quite limited. Thanks

it depends on which schools you are aiming for. The competitiveness is very different.
