Boys pre-prep advice Fulham/Putney

Hello
Looking for advice in selecting independent primary school for DS. DH is a Squirrels/Kings alumni and is keen to duplicate if possible. Wondering which primary/pre primary schools we should have on our radar that are closer to Fulham. As well as the benefits/drawbacks of selecting a pre-prep ending Y2/3 vs Y6?
My DD will attend school in parsons green, so logistics at work as well.
Thanks!

Good luck OP. I think if you go into a pre-prep with the attitude that the 7+ can be a trial run and if they get a place, then that’s a bonus, then you’ll be fine.
There are always some parents, particularly those of PFBs, who see 7+ success at KCJS, SPS of LU as “all or nothing,” to the point they feel it’s the end of the world if they don’t get in (and let’s face it, most won’t). But it’s just a point in time and they all have so far to go. When you think about it, children in other countries have barely started formal school at 6 - and they turn out just as well Grin
Anyway, wishing you all the best!

@whatsnextnow agree. At least at some pre preps DCs can try for entry at 7+ and 8+, so if no luck at 7+, there is a year to figure out the next step. We are aiming for reception next year. Just went through w DD. The foreseeable future is clogged with kids school entry admin!

@legoninjago1 I have no idea really! Another poster on this thread said that mums (who aim for the stars and push their DC to the limits) can invite your DC for a play date to gauge ability/competition. Fancy some flash cards and speed reading at teatime!? A bit psycho really, if that actually happens. We shall see...

To give a little perspective when ds was 8 dh said to give him a run at kcs to see how he fared. We did, he had a fun morning. He got called for interview and offered a place the following week. The interview was a chat about cricket. Seems quite funny looking back. We only ever applied to one school for him. Wonder if that still happens?
