SATs prep (Year 6)

Dc school very relaxed about homework so no sats prep has been suggested, I’m sure they are doing plenty in school but can anyone advise what things I can do at home to help?

Dc is generally good at maths (I would say middle-top sort of level)
Struggles to articulate on paper what they want to say and makes simple spelling mistakes (right letter but wrong order usually or just because they are rushing) but has good ideas and is a good reader.

I'd say do nothing extra just for SATs.

However if you want to work on general spelling or whatever to help the DC when they get to secondary then go for it.

The other thing you could do it talk about test taking technique (but I'd wait until they start doing practice tests as school). Basic things like don't spend too long on any question in maths, make sure you read question carefully. That will help for SATs, but also it is a useful skills for regular assessments in secondary.
