Great state primary schools in Central London?

We live in Central London and really want to stay here. But I am worried about the schools as our neighbors seem to all send their kids private and we can't afford that - and really want state anyway. Does anyone know of any great state schools in Bloomsbury/Fitzrovia area or surrounds? Thanks!

Great state schools in London tend to have tiny catchments (not actual catchments, I mean areas from which children get places - is there a proper word for that?) So asking about schools in a general area is likely to be irrelevant because you'd have to live on the right street to get in. You'd be better off asking about whether any MNetters have any experience of the 2 or 3 schools nearest to you.

Thanks! The thing is we might move anyway but want to stay in general Fitzrovia/Bloomsbury area and there aren't a ton of schools so I was hoping to catch a wider net of ideas. Current closest is All Souls C of E.

All souls looks like a pretty good school to me - although it is a voluntary aided C of E school so it will probably be quite religious. You should visit it to find out if it’s too much for you.

Everyone who applied got a place last year, you can see the details of the schools in this document www.westminster.gov.uk/sites/default/files/287_1_-_wcc_primary_school_brochure_2020_006.pdf

Are you in Westminster or Camden? Camden schools are by and large very good and it's an excellent LEA, at primary level particularly. Their info is here https://www.camden.gov.uk/primary-admissions

You can compare performance and other stats on that website.
