Primary Schools in Tower Hamlets - 2020 admission

Hello there,

I am new to mum's net. Any help on school admissions would be great.

I am a first time mum and my kids will be going to nursery in 2020. They are currently in a nursery school but I assumed that they would be their until 5years and then move on to primary school but the school expects the kids to move at 4 years.

There is the option to defer until the following Jan but after that they will need to move onto their allocated school place.

Anywho - my question is which schools would you recommend within the E1/E2 area? I have left my search a little late!

You might be better off asking on a local Facebook group. I’m in a neighbouring postcode and there’s really good advice on schools on ours.

But in general, it’s good to visit some at their open mornings. We’ve been to a couple now and found them helpful.

Do you have to apply for primary schools by mid January 2020, something like the 14 or 15?
If so make sure you do the online form. Even get the basics done now as there are sometimes attachments you need to add.
I think TH has catchment schools sound find out what yours is and put that down in at least one of your slots.

You apply for Sept 2020 start by Jan 15 2020 if you child is 4 by 31/8/20. Your council website under education is your first point of call.
