Our boys got 2 Southborough Primary School in year school places (year 1 and 3). Is this school a good school? It's in Bromley Southborough, near to Petts Wood. Thank you for your advice. It's rated good by ofsted.

I’m interested in this too. Trying to decide between Crofton or Southborough for first choice.

Crofton is outstanding by ofsted 2016 and 2019? Southborough is good by ofsted 2016?

I believe so.

I had friends who moved to Petts Wood and had children in Southborough for two terms as no place at Crofton. As soon as places came up at Crofton they moved their two children. It wasn’t that Southborough was bad, just Crofton had so much more to offer (the size of the school gives extra language, music and activities) it was also closer which is a major consideration. Both their children left Crofton in the last few years and got places at grammar schools - but how much is the family and how much is the school is hard to say.

So Crofton / council allows kids to stay on the waitlist for places even after they start another school?

I thought the council only allows school to school transfer application if someone wants to change to another school. I know school to school transfer is difficult because that requires the original head teacher's support?

You can stay on waiting list for multiple schools. It is the same in most LAs. The waiting list position can go down as well as up as if others move to the area for the same year group and are closer than you or a LAC they may get priority. My friends were 0.2 miles from Crofton so were top of the list.
