Hi

I have visited a few schools and one on my list is St Mary Abbots in W8. Does anyone have any experience of it? I am particularly interested in how religious it is (eg more than an average school or less so?). I am ware that they have assemblies - do they last at least 30 min a day? I am also aware that it is possible to exclude the child from assemblies, however does it happen in practice? If so, what do they children do during such time, and how many children are not participating?
Some coe schools I visited were rather relaxed and not too religious, others spent at least 40min-1h a day (often in the morning) on prayers, so I wanted to see if anyone knows what it is like in St Mary Abbots.

Thank you in advance!

Regards
hutia

I think it’s extremely likely that any c of e spends an hour a day praying?! I’m in a Catholic School and we certainly don’t do that much praying!

If you don't want your child to have a CoE education then don't send them to a CoE school. Anyway, I thought you had to practising CoE to get a place

What a silly thing to say. Why should a child have to travel miles from their home because of their religion or lack of it? It's not black or white either. Some parents are happy for their child to have some exposure to religion - as long as it isn't excessive.

Why is it on your list?
