Surrey primary -Esher Church Achool, Claremont Fan or Rowan

Does anyone have a girl at Rowan that has brothers? I like the school but worries quite sheltered and once in there the feeder schools are girls. Claremont has lovely grounds. I also have a older son and this is the closest school and I liked it on open day. What are people’s real thoughts on a Esher Church School? It got a Good at its recent ofsted but what is the education like there for those who are not the top of the class/bright? Not sure if the private is worth it at year 2 level

Definitely worth paying for a private school if that’s your option.

You will never hear a bad word about Rowan eps on MN. Again Claremont is very popular with parents but the Prep school won't give you the 11plus prep that Rowan will. You are correct that Rowan will direct you to SHS, Tormead, Guildford High etc.

Many parents in the area stick with state primary & tutor & move to private at 11, if you are prepared to make sure your dd is on top of her learning you should be ok to move from Esher Church to Claremont Prep in year 5 or 6 to avoid the 11plus.
