Allergy-free treats for school (birthday)

Hello,
Could anyone please give me some ideas about allergy-free treats to take to DD's class on her birthday, just to mark the day, as we were advised against cakes. Ideally everybody will be able to partake regardless of allergies, religion, etc. Nothing home-made I'm afraid.
Thanks!

only thing i can think of that covers all the allergens is dairy free chocolate buttons (which you could get from tesco and put into smaller bags)

Pop-corn? In my children's school, they did this when they had a child with an allergy in a class. If you go with flavoured popcorn, then make sure you check the ingredients.

Skittles and Starburst are the safest sweets, but check the ingredients too!

Ours tend always to bring in Haribo.
Think there's gelatine in them, but hardly anyone has ever objected.

Haribo.seems to be the most popular choice but I'd rather as

  1. a parent my child didn't get any (so many sweets with all the birthdays)
  2. as a teacher they didn't bother as it's another thing in my hectic day to remember to do!

Mini bags of skittles? Nut allergy safe, veggie and I'm almost certain fine for all other allergies too but let me check....

velocitygirl7 · 16/09/2019 22:36

Yep, totally fine, they are also halal and vegan friendly too!

And thanks for being thoughtful, my ds is 14 now but at primary school he often missed out due to his nut allergy Sad

You can get mini bags of Party Rings which are Vegan, so cover most bases I think

Thats really kind of you and the school to support those with allergies Smile How nice you are.

How about some stickers, or a mini pack of bubbles if you wanted to branch out from food related.

I agree on the haribo idea being a fairly safe choice.

My advice is to look at the list of 14 most common allergens and avoid anything on there.

Hope you find something suitable and happy birthday to your child!

Jelly tots are vegan. My child has several allergies and loves them.
