Regarding Seven Mills School

I am very new in Canary wharf area. My son has been allocated Seven Mills Primary school which was not my first preference. Now if I appeal to change it the council is going to take few weeks to consider it and they want a valid reason why I don't want that school. Honestly I don't have any valid reason why I don't want to send my child to that school. Would like to hear honest reviews from the parents sending their kids to that school or knowing the parents who attend that school. Any feedback will he really helpful to make my decision.

I don't know the school, but I do know the new deputy head and he is really, really good. Hope someone comes along soon with local knowledge for you.

An appeal is an appeal for a specific school you want your DS to go to - i.e. against the decision not to give him a place at that specific school - not against the school that you have been allocated.

What school year is your DS in? If Reception, Y1 or Y2, then your appeal will only be successful in very limited circumstances.

If you just don't want your DS to go to the school he has been allocated, you can just not send him - but, assuming that he is of statutory school age, the onus is then on you to arrange for his full time education. Are your feelings strong enough for you to want to organise home education for him whilst waiting for a place at one of the schools you liked better than this one?

In term admissions are to schools with places, unless there's a very specific reason why they should make an additional place (adoption/fostering/kinship care being typical reasons). You could enquire as to where else there are spaces otherwise I suggest you start your dc and see how the school is, you can always transfer later
