Hi

I've heard that ORT lists 100 keywords in its Parent's handbook; are these the same as the Ladybird 100 keywords or high frequencey words for reception, year 1 and 2?

If they are different could someone tell me what they are?

thanks :0

I made a similar posting in response to another 'key words' message. Many schools are not using high frequency word lists anymore as most should be using a synthetic phonic approach now and many of the words from these lists are phonetically plausible and thus do not need to be taught as whole words e.g. mum, dad, up etc
I would recommend the jolly phonics tricky words as these are truely indicitive of words which need to be taught as words e.g said, we, was etc
