I want my DC2 to start reception the term after they turn 5, so September 2021.

When do I send the letter? What do I put in it?

They have just started at nursery.

Anyone know how this could effect early years funding?

I have checked my council website but other than 'send your request in writing to this address' it doesn't give much more detail.

Anonymous social media....
Set up spam email
Use incorrect mobile ( you can register just with email)
Use different name - e.g. initials and maiden name
Set everything to private
Facebook won't have a clue who you are as neither your mobile or email will be in anyone's contacts so there are no connections.
Use Facebook purely for groups.
Anonymity preserved.

OP you're being rude and ridiculous, people have been very helpful and your response is to swear at them 🙄 it's not rocket science to set up a fake account. No one is suggesting you use your real name or stick photos of your kids on there 🤦‍♀️

The process for me was quite different to what is already described on this thread. That’s why you need to link in with others that have done it.

If you want to defer for a full year, you must apply to the LA and not the school. That's because you cannot hold a space to the next academic year with a school.

Funding in your case is fine - You can claim early years funding until the end of term that your child is 5 if you are able to defer.
