Amersham - Primary Schools

Hi there, we’ve just moved to Amersham from London. We both grew up in S Bucks and went to Challoners, but do not know anything about Primary Schools in Amersham.
We appear to be in the catchment area for St George’s, then Woodside. Does anyone know if these are good schools? We will be going on a tour at some point, but would love to hear from parents. Thanks so much!

St George's is infants and Woodside is juniors so depends on the age(s) of your child(ren)...?

They’ll be going to St George’s first. First one from Sept next year and then will move up to Woodside. I just wanted to hear what both were like, I guess particularly infant school as that will be first. Thanks

The problem is that Amersham is hugely popular and the best schools are sought after. If you are in catchment for these schools, it’s unlikely you will get anywhere else! Chestnut Lane is ultra sought after and so is Little Chalfont. Chalfont Valley is often available but St George’s is better. St Mary’s in Old Amersham is difficult to get into too! So unless you are prepared to move, you won’t have any choice!
