Ewell Schools

Does anyone have experience of Ewell Grove or St Clements Catholic Primary?

Two are an option for us but there seem to be few parent reviews online.

I don't know the schools but here's a link + you could also read their Ofsted reports.

Thanks.

Both seem very well regarded, St Ckements is very small 1 form entry and Ewell Grove is much bigger and crowded onto it’s site since it became a through primary school. It is very heavily over subscribed though and you won’t get in unless you live very close.

It can be easier to get into St Clements - obviously priority goes to baptised RCs, just be aware that it yo do get a non faith place then you will not qualify for sibling priority for subsequent children.

Neither school has great wrap around provision.

Thanks for your feedback.

We are practicing catholics so would qualify for St Clements but I'm also a teacher and wonder whether I go with the Outstandingly titled school.

Well, if you’re a teacher, have you been round both and got a feel for them? I’m a teacher too and having a look around + asking a few questions really does help to get a feel for a school quite quickly.

I've looked round Ewell Grove and was impressed by there Head and the calmness of the school especially during transition. But had assumed as Catholics I'd always send my children to Catholic schools so feel a bit torn. I'll go to the open evenings this coming term and see what I think.

If the Catholic aspect is important, you could also consider other Catholic schools slightly further afield if you aren’t completely sure about the nearest one?

Are you too far for St Joseph's? My eldest has just finished there and I'd rate it over St Clements tbh.

StStanton · 04/08/2019 16:08

I think we probably are. I work in London and get the train and my husband leaving before 6am in the morning so being local is important.

Thanks for all your feedback.

What church is St Joseph's associated with (I'm not originally from here).

St Joseph's church, which is right next door to the school. Yes it does sound like it'd be too far for you.
