COLFE's school competition for entry at 11+ (and/or different age)

Hi Ladies,

We're thinking of moving to the Lee area (SE London) next to COLFE's school and wonder approximately how competitive the entry might be at the stage of 11+ exams. On the school site it says that they create an extra 60 places for pupils to apply from outside the school. How about applying to get in later on, at 13 years (or even not during the main entry points, e.g. at age 9 or 12 years). We have a son and I understand that usually more girls may sit the 11+ exams, whilst boys are more likely to move to secondary schools at age 13. Grateful for your thoughts!
