Summer holiday journal

Any recommendations for a good summer holiday journal? Had a nice one last year from amazon but struggling this year. Last years had half a page for pictures/photos and half for writing.
I have 2 DSs, just fishing Y2 and YR and just want something that’s fun and not too onerous but just keeps the writing ticking along.
Thanks in advance

We had been doing summer diary since nursery. The best ones are just simple plain notebook, without lines. They can draw pictures, stick some tickets, some leaves/flowers, and write some comments. Sometimes they can write whole page. Or they can draw picture on whole page with a bit of comments explaining what they are talking about.
To me, best diary for children in ks1 is just a plain notebook, not a proper diary. Big, and no lines.

I would get asked to draw lines in if I expected them to write much 🙈..

There are plenty of happiness/gratitude journals for kids on amazon etc - that’s a nice project for kids. Waterstones is good for that kind of thing too if you’ve not checked it.

I actually taught my dc to draw lines, if they wanted to. And they did it themselves. It really doesn't need to be straight or horizontal.

It's up to you, we used proper diary, and just normal notebook. Both works fine. But if the child is more artistic and enjoys drawing like my dc, plain paper works better. But if the child loves writing more, then proper nice diary will encourage them more. And if you go to any stationery shop, you can buy nice ones.

I got a couple of great A4 scrapbook/sketchbooks from The Range for £1.99. One has white pages and the other coloured (though proper paper not sugar paper).

We're going free form and just going to stick in whatever/write around it. My DS is just finishing reception and will only need a few lines drawn in.

We got some of those exercise books where the top half of the page is plain and the bottom half lined. Think they were about £2.99 in Rymans...

I got the same - half page blank for picture, half with writing from the £ shop.

OP. If you're still looking for one, a lovely friend of mine has starting making them and selling them on FB - I can give you her details if you want to pm me.

Oo, thank you, I will so I can look!
Thanks for the other suggestions too.

Interestingly, class teacher has recommended creative writing rather than holiday diary for Y2.
