I am supporting a year 3 child who struggles with maths. Her mum wants a workbook for the summer holidays. Can anyone recommend a particular publication please? Something simple and visual.

My DC of a similar age like the Carol Vorderman ones with the ten minute timer (Smith’s, Amazon etc) in the holidays. They are only a practice workbook though and not really a book for explaining concepts with diagrams etc. I’d recommend browsing WHSmiths or even The Works. They have lots of books to help with maths.

LOok on Amazon for ‘Powermaths’ y3. You can buy workbooks and text books. (y2 teacher here)

CGP books are very good to support class learning.

My school use Schofield and Simms or CGP
