KS2 SATs results 2019

Hi, I know that the KS2 SATs results were sent to schools on Tuesday (9th). Has anyone had them sent home yet? My school are saying that they will send them home next Friday (19th), this seems an unreasonably long time to have to wait. GCSE and A Level results are issued the day after being received. Or am I being unreasonable?

It wouldn’t bother me at all. In my opinion KS2 SATs are nothing like GCSEs or A-levels.

Our school told the children yesterday whether they had met the expected level, not met the expected level or had achieved what they would class as greater depth (110 marks +). They said that they won’t tell us the scores until reports come out next Friday, although my dd’s teacher did tell dd her scores as she scored very highly. Cue dd’s twin brother feeling very aggrieved that he had not been told his score and me having to tell him off about his poor attitude as he had also scored greater depth across the board.
I know a lot of people say that the results mean nothing and are for the schools benefit only, but actually if the children have been put under pressure and have been anxiously waiting to find out how they did I think it’s only fair that they give them their scores straight away. The few schools nearest to us all gave out scores on Tuesday when they got them.

We got the report and scores on the day (and they had Ofsted in as well!).

Think it's unreasonable to wait that long (19th).

Had ours yesterday. Next Friday does seem a long time to wait but as PP says they're not nearly as important as GCSEs or A-Levels.

TeenTimesTwo · 12/07/2019 13:03

The school will want to check the data etc.
By sending them home next Friday they are possibly also trying to avoid the kids doing too much comparison with each other.

QuckTheDuck · 12/07/2019 13:43

When do they get put up on the websites? (Compare schools etc)

BreconBeBuggered · 12/07/2019 13:51

Comparative tables won't be available until the autumn term - off the top of my head I think it's October.

TeenTimesTwo · 12/07/2019 13:55

I'm awaiting the flood of threads:

'I don't understand my DC's SATs results. They got 117, 118, 120, is that OK?'

'My DC got their SATs results today. They got 120, 120 and 118. I'm a bit disappointed with the 118 and think the teachers didn't do a good enough job. Should I complain straight to Ofsted or are the Governors OK?'

troppibambini · 12/07/2019 14:01

Teen my daughter has got 120,120 and 120 does this been she has gd?

TeenTimesTwo · 12/07/2019 14:05

Oh, and who cares whether it is 114 or 115 for 'greater depth' (whatever that means).

BreconBeBuggered · 12/07/2019 14:12

As far as I've seen there's been at least one bewildered parent already 'fretting' about faintly sub-120 scores and claiming their child is disappointed.

Mumski45 · 12/07/2019 15:14

Yes we had our results sent home on Tuesday. Class as a whole did very well and the yr6 teacher deserves a medal. Don't understand the veiled bragging posts. It only takes a quick Google search to find out what scores mean and that's quicker than posting on here Grin

TeenTimesTwo · 12/07/2019 19:51

There's a thread now 120, 118, 112 are they any good?
I suspect a wind up.
I refuse to believe any parent clued up enough to know about MN Primary board doesn't know that 100 is expected and 120 the top mark.

Charmatt · 12/07/2019 21:08

As long as the school inform you by the end of term they can decide on the date

ConfusedMumOfTwo · 13/07/2019 18:02

yes, I know in theory they can choose when they tell us it just seems unfair to wait that long

Ours used to give them out on last day of term.
