Managing asthma at school and clubs

Hi there,
DC is starting school in September, and I wondered what I should put into place regarding his asthma and having inhaler handy? He doesn't know when he needs it, we have to judge for him and administer. I am worried the staff at a busy primary may not pick up on the tell tale signs, as he just sounds like every other 4 yr old with a cough to start with....

They will have experience with asthma. Meet with the head before school starts and ask what measures they have in place.

I gave the school a copy of his asthma plan detailing triggers, signs and symptoms and what to do in case of attack. In my experience the school have been good and won't hesitate to call if they have concerns.

It’s a requirement for the school to have a copy of the asthma plan. I would meet the teacher - not really necessary to meet the head.
