Hello, we're considering moving to the Greenwich Millennium Village and enroll in the Millennium Primary School. It was Outstanding in 2015 but no update since. Anyone from the area who can share their experience? How's the school? Is it worth buying into the Village or do you recommend other schools in Greenwich? Thanks!

I don't know the school personally but it doesn't impress with numbers at all...

Meh. the numbers for this year look a bit low -but the previous two years are far higher. With smaller schools you have to look at the bigger picture not just the last 12 months?

The Executive Head is amazing and the school site seems v attractive?

Halstow has traditionally been the 'best' school in Greenwich but has a v small catchment and house prices nearby reflect this.

I've just looked at the previous years and so surprised how much the school has gone downhill in just 2 years! Shock

OP, have you been round to quiz them on what the heck is going on there?

The tour dates are booked out for the year but will try and arrange a viewing.

It's a lovely area with a park. New builds are coming up and people are moving in. Greenwich is amazing but the school rating is oddly confusing for everything around it!

Any local knowledge would be really helpful!

Have you looked at the new St Mary Magdalene school in the peninsula? All the parents in the area seem to be opting for that as first choice. I am sure the results at Millennium will continue to reflect this.

Hi

I think you should not consider enrolling your kid in Millenium. Recently ,the school has gone from bad to worse

  1. Some classes do not have permanent teachers
  2. Because they are understaffed, the school teachers are mostly grumpy and shouting at kids
  3. No proper update on you child's progress, you will get a template feedback about all kids as they themselves are not genuinely interested in the progress of the students
  4. In case you raise concerns with the school your kid is targeted in classroom
  1. Teachers are very insensitive to kids needs in classroom.

Please do not enrol your kids in this school.

P.s I have heard similar complaints from many Mom's sending there child to Millenium Primary School.
Halstow is really good and kids are genuinely happy there, a few ppl have changed schools from Millenium to Halstow.

Another school in the same locality is St. Mary Magdelene, I have heard the school curriculum and facilities are really good. This review is only for their Primary school, secondary is not that great.

Hope this helps.

Season 5 No GIF by The Office

It sucks…
I went there and I have seen bugs in bathroom and teachers do nothing for you.
Nurses room (medical) will only give you wet paper towel.
Don’t consider it 🙏

Stay away!!

SUSHA123 · 30/12/2025 23:11

I completely agree - stay away- if you want to help your child.

It's the worst place to put your child in.Teachers and management both are awful. Strange they have disabled comments on their website in Google. Too scared I guess!

Another mother wrote a post in this section about this school. I would avoid.

Ughh🤮🤮🤮, had some very bad experience with the school.

My ds was in year5 in Millenium and she hated it, every day she was shouted at by the teacher for her work. She needed support in learning as she is not great in academics and was made to feel worthless. We had a tough time trying to get her confidence back. Switched school and now God bless she is much better😊😊😊

I did supply teaching here for a week probably 15 years ago - the other teachers were actually mean to me (2 shouted at me like I was an idiot) and the class were similarly rude. I am a very good teacher with good behaviour management and had worked in areas that were much tougher. I went to dozens of schools that year but have always remembered this place!! I appreciate so much will have changed in that time!
