Assessment for 4/5 year olds

Hi, just looking for some info on what sort of thing a private selective school will test/look for in a 4/5 year old for admissions purposes? What if they are having an off day?!!

Listening to a story and discussing characters, what might happen before or after in the plot , doing puzzles, playing maths games, following instructions such as making a craft, interactions, putting things away and lining up when asked, waiting turn. Most would spend a day in a class/group with some one to one with teacher. More academic schools may be more formal.
