We've been to see both Feltonfleet and Danes Hill as potential schools for our son, who (to start at aged 3 or 4 at either school). Does anyone have any recent experience with either school?

We loved both and can see the obvious differences, particularly the size as DH is twice the size of Feltonfleet. We felt Calvi House at Feltonfleet was nice but it was the main school that we really special. Plus the class size at Calvi House is 20 which is bigger than Bevendean at Danes Hill.

Bevendean was great and class sizes smaller but the whole school is so huge we are a bit concerned our guy would get lost in the crowd so to speak.

So ... bigger class size at Feltonfleet but much smaller overall school size versus smaller class size at Danes Hill but large school. Our son is outgoing and confident but does better in smaller, calmer environments. In terms of focus, we want broad and supportive, we don't want to push any one area, just want to see what his interests and strengths are and a school that can support those. Any experiences you've had with either school?

With the caveat that this is all hearsay, Feltonfleet seems to be a gentler place (not less acaedmic or less sport per se but just not as pushy) than DH. We're not in Cobham so wouldn't have looked at DH for geographical reasons but there are probably lots of places I'd have chosen over that.

Hearsay says that DH is much more pushy. Have you looked at claremont and downsend?

Thanks for your comments, I'll take a look at Downsend and Claremont Smile

Hi, I have friends with children at Feltonfleet and they are really happy. Never mentioned a problem with class sizes - compared to 30 in a state school, it’s still small after all.
