Hello, DD will finish her year R soon and I am wondering if we need to give presents for her teachers? If yes, which kind of presents?
Thanks!

In my case we have all pitched in and we’ll split the total between the teachers and TAs and get a gift card.

If it’s too late in the day to do that then just a handmade card and a bottle of wine maybe?

You don't need to. You can if you want to. It's totally up to you.
But if you decided to give a gift, make sure you give it to TA as well. They are as valuable as teacher for your children.( Unless they are horrible!)

I asked my dc if they wanted to give thank you gift for teacher or not. Some year they said yes, some year, they said no.

You don't have to but if you decide to I would agree you should include the TA's too.

Generally I get given chocolates, bath stuff, wine, candles, tins of biscuits and pot plants. All of which I like. Best gift I have seen though is a friend has a canvas bag decorated by one of her students which she uses every day, I really want one.

I love those mini bottles of wine you get at supermarkets. Enough for about one glass of wine. Maybe a chocolate bar to go with it if teacher is extra fab.

My DC wrote Thank You cards to staff and they devised the card. Never gave presents.
