School uniform help

I'm on the hunt for uniform for my 5 year old DS. He's not great with buttons or clips and we need grey trousers. No idea where to start or which brands last longest/don't need much ironing.
Any suggestions?

Asda and Matalan both do pull on grey school trousers with no buttons or fastenings. Asda trousers are huge though, so if your boy is little for his age the size 3-4 will have lots of growing room.

Standard M&S trousers for that age are elasticated waist so they pull up and down no problem.

Sainsburys also - even when they have clips at the front, the elasticated bit at the back means child can still just pull them up and down. They have adjustable waists (elastic with lots of holes and a button, on the inside on each side).

M& trousers have lasted best in our house but by far our favourite polo shirts are from George at Asda.

My son has had m&s trousers this year, that have been great. They still look good at the end of the year, and have lasted much better than his friends' trousers from other shops. 1 of his reception friends have gone through literally 10 pairs of trousers since September as he keep going though the knees. Other people's trousers have gone bubbly and old looking. The M&S ones are easy to iron too.

We had Aldi and Sainsbury trousers for ds, they are elasticated so he manages fine with them, and, despite him managing to come home at least twice a week with plasters on his knees after a fall, there isn't a single mark on any of his trousers. In fact, if he doesn't grow too much over the summer, they'll do him next year too!

Also most school trousers have an adjustable waist so even when Ds2 went into the whole zip and hook fastening he could still easily just pull them down without undoing anything due to the elasticated back.

We usually bought uniform from M&S on the 3 for 2 but were savvy about what we went through the till with, so I would always have 3 x trousers to get one pair free rather than the plimsolls for free.

Asda is on the generous side.

I always bought from Asda, the quality was fine and it's quite cheap so you can get a few sets.

Thanks, we've a M&S and Asda nearby so I'll check them both out. He's tall for his age but really skinny so hopefully one of them will have something to suit

My DD 15 is tall with a tiny waist and wears the 13/14 long.

I found trousers with fully elasticated waist on amazon recently (by zeco) and they stay in place unlike the ones with adjustable waist, including m&s ones. I found that if I adjust the waist to fit, they become difficult to pull up/down (my child is very slim though, so no supermarket brands fit him).
