Hampton High or Teddington School

I'm just moving back to the Hampton Wick with my daughter, currently in year 9. Based on available places our options for schools are Teddington School and Hampton High.

I've heard that Teddington School has had some problems, and it has 'a needs improvement' Ofsed rating. However we had a look around the school liked it. Does anyone know if the school is improving with the new head teacher since the report in Jan 2018?

We also looked at Hampton High, which we also liked, and Hampton High got a Good rating in March this year. My daughter liked this school more, although it's further away from us.

At the moment I'm leaning towards Hampton High, as it has the good rating and my daughter likes it... Although Teddington would be much more convenient as only a walk away.

Does anyone have any recent direct experience of Teddington or Hampton High Schools to help us make a good decision! Thanks!

I haven’t got direct experience of these schools but I have friends with children at both. I have heard great things about the new head at Teddington and I’m sure the school will turn around their ofsted to good at the next inspection. I would go for Teddington as it’s your nearer school and has always had a good reputation and been highly sought after until it’s recent ofsted. It is true that Hampton High has improved recently and my friends have mostly been happy with the school. Fingers crossed it carries on doing well.
