Awaiting Appeal Hearing

Feels like such a long process. It's so difficult because I'm starting to get used to the offered school and I just want to know now for definite and get excited for my youngest starting school.
We aren't likely to win the appeal because we are out of catchment even though we are less than a mile from the school.
My youngest has a sibling at the denied school so that's why we are appealing although it's not going to hold much weight as it was oversubscribed this year.
Not sure why I'm posting or what I will gain from it but I just hate the long wait and feel deflated.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a hearing?

The hearing must be within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.

Being out of catchment may not be a barrier. What a the actual admissions criteria for that school?

Sonicknuckles · 04/06/2019 18:11

Siblings out of catchment don't get priority over in catchment no sibling

Ok but are there other criteria?

Sonicknuckles · 04/06/2019 19:59

It goes in this order
catchment sibling,
Catchment no sibling
Outside catchment sibling
Outside catchment

School is 0.7 miles away where sibling is. Nearest school to us is 0.4 miles so there's not much in it. So unfair to not admit but it was heavily oversubscribed this year.
