Are my poor dd's the ONLY ones in school until next Friday pm?

they are knackered and I'm fed up of the fact the every other school in Christendom has finished for the summer.

It's enough to make one consider a private education

NEXT Friday - mine have been off for weeks and weeks!

bundle · 19/07/2007 18:30

most private schools I know of have been off for at least a week already. the more you pay..the less you get

Lucycat · 19/07/2007 18:31

Lucycat - I think whenever you break up the last weeks are like some torture - you really are nearly there...

stepfordwife · 19/07/2007 18:49

lucycat - we don't break up until tomorrow either. AND they finoish at the usual time - not even lunch-time or a measly hour earlier

mankyscotslass · 19/07/2007 18:49

Well, we are nearly as bad as you...3.10 next thursday!

stepfordwife · 19/07/2007 18:51

blimey - just read it properly (helps, eh?!) NEXT friday!!!!!!
that's an outrage

dramaqueen · 19/07/2007 18:53

I assume that you had 2 weeks at may half term though?

Lucycat · 19/07/2007 19:43

All the primary schools in this area have two weeks at Whit- we have lots of local authorites close to us and ours is the only one still in next week

I really can't work out the holidays!

We go back one day later than the rest in Sept but that's it.

Ladymuck · 19/07/2007 19:45

Do you have inset days scattered throughout the terms then rather than added on to the main hols?

Judd · 19/07/2007 19:45

We're in until next Friday too! Lucycat, are you near Stockport?

Lucycat · 19/07/2007 19:46

Yes Judd we are Stockport - are you?

the local authority with the most bizarre school holidays - they have been even worse this year!

2 weeks for whit & you break up next friday. Cant say fairer than that. Ours dont break up until 330pm next wednesday (except us skivers off on holiday ) & we only had 1 week in may

portonovo · 19/07/2007 20:54

Yes, we break up next Wed (well my older two do, the youngest has 3 TD days so finishes tomorrow), and we only had one week in May.

NAB3 · 19/07/2007 20:55

My son finishes on Tuesday.

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 19/07/2007 20:55

no ;ucycat-we are not finishing till next friday either.

Thomasina · 19/07/2007 20:56

next Wed lunchtime

Judd · 19/07/2007 21:24

You do make a killing if you go on holiday the second week in Whit though, when everybody else is back at school. The prices drop like stones...
Ds's pre school finished last Friday, so he is requiring entertainment, but DD is at school until next Friday. I'm having to play down all our excursions so she doesn't get jealous! (trip to Stockport on train, 7 mins long - woo hoo!)

coffeepot · 19/07/2007 22:18

Wednesday lunch time here too.
Not sure how we are going to get
through the last few days, getting
very ragged round the edges now.

islandofsodor · 19/07/2007 22:55

Half of MAcc are in til next week too, the ones that had the two week half term.

Mine finished 2 weeks ago.

lilolilmanchester · 19/07/2007 23:01

my DD finishes next Friday too (primary), but gets 2 weeks at Whit.
DS (secondary) finishes tomorrow but only gets 1 week at Whit.

MintyDixCharrington · 19/07/2007 23:02

yes, mine will have finished their 3rd week of holiday by then

poor little things!

Smithagain · 20/07/2007 17:41

Wednesday lunchtime here. The end is in sight!

Radley · 20/07/2007 17:41

Mine finish at 2pm next friday
