Wycombe/Wooburn Green Schools

Hi everyone,

We currently live in the Totteridge part of Wycombe but are planning to move on to a larger home in the next couple of years.

We don't want to venture to far from Wycombe as it works for our commutes. DH to Reading and myself to London. We don't have more than about £525,000 on what needs to be a relatively spacious 4 bed house. DS is only 16 months, so we've got plenty of time to explore before we make our move.

I've been considering various areas but Wooburn Green is the one we are currently interested in.

The only thing I'm not certain about is what the schools are like?

Does anyone have any advice about schools in this area? Or recommend anywhere else we may consider?

You won’t get a relatively spacious 4 bed there for £525,000. It will be more of a box. Some 3 beds are this and more. Good commute to Reading and fingers crossed for crossrail from Maidenhead! I think it’s a pretty good place to live but I don’t know it well.

However there is a C of E Aided Primary and a Primary Academy. The Aided C of E school does their own admissions so you need to read up on their admissions policy. The government web site has data on progress and quality of outcomes at the two schools. So have a look. You can read newsletters etc but the C of E school will be fairly church oriented as it’s Aided. So that might be what you need to consider most.
