Applying for primary schools - advice

Morning all!
So, I don't need to apply yet as my son only just turned 3 in March but I'm wondering when it comes to applying for primary schools if I can use their fathers address as the school I have my heart set on is in his catchment area. He already attends the nursery attached to that particular school (3 days a week) and we share both of our children 50/50, there's no court order or any custody agreement in place to support that, we just decided between us. Thanks!

I think it has to be the house he is registered for child benefit, GP etc

Go to your local authority website and find their 'Starting Primary School' information - it will normally state how they determine the main address of the child (this is the info for LB Sutton - pg 6 is the relevant one).

In our area I believe it's the place where they spend the majority of their school nights (Sunday-Thursday), but as pp have said, you need to check what the rules are for your own LA - your council should have a school admissions page on their website with all the information.

Thank you all, I did try to have a look on the council website and couldn't initially find it but after some digging I found it, it says the address must be where the child is on most of the school days which is me since their dad works early morning, it's split friday night to Monday morning and then I have them Monday after school to Friday. guess I'll still apply but won't hold much hope 🙈
