so following parents evening teacher advice that DD is only 3/4 of the way there with maths and needs more practice but didnt really give any clarity around what. Said she was at expected for english but needs more work again no real clarity despite asking for specifics ( in yr2 was exceeding expectations).

So I've signed up for maxfactor which two days in seems to be a hit and I can see what areas she needs more clarification with, but I'm now wondering what to do for English.

Any resource recommendations?

Teacher said she reads beautifully, her handwriting is beautiful and she is writing detailed structured work so not really sure what it is I'm supposed to be working on to be honest. Thought a programme like an English version of Maths factor might shed more light.

The best thing you can do for English is to real loads of high quality stories together and talk about the language.

I’d ask the teacher did some specific guidance about what she thinks your daughter should be working on

I did but all she said is read everyday which we do, She said something about her giving fuller answers to questions and referring back to the text more but that was pretty much all I could get.

“Read to” or read with? Perhaps read less and focus in understanding. Ask lots of questions where the answers are in the text and get her to practise saying “I know this because...” and then pointing out where the information is.

Ignore my first sentence, I appear to have invented something in your post that isn’t there! I’m blaming holiday brain.
