DD is leaving primary next Friday and I am a wreck! Its like that saying 'don't mention the war' well don't mention 'end of term!' I'm hoping its PMT, but I fear I may melt under the weight of my own tears throughout next week! I've got a huge year 6 party that me and another mum have organised on Saturday. We went shopping for goodies today and couldn't stop 'filling up'. Speech day is on Thursday and I just know they are going to sing Over the Rainbow (I'm filling up again!) And bloody Nick Knowles on BBC1 isn't helping!

My DS finishes primary at 5pm tonight ~ they are having a party after school right now. Very emotional day and am dreading picking him up.

Actually, I found that it was the anticipation of tears that was worse. Most of the kids were tearful when they finished on Friday, but tbh, I think it was largely relief that it was all over. They were all in the park together again within the hour and 18 of them are going to the same school! I got choked up a bit, but only seeing the kids crying. Within minutes, I had got over it! Good luck to everyone who has still to finish term and those who are going into year 6 next year. Its a hell of a year!!

Being an expat and with a DS at an international school we have seen lots of goodbyes already and he is only in Yr 1!

Watching the children say goodbye and knowing that they are leaving the country has made for many a tearful assembly!
