Kindergarten / preschool interview

We've made the decision to put our DDs through private school from pre school.
DD1's application was submitted for September 2019 preschool and they undertake "interviews" with the head of infants.
She's 2 1/2 and a July baby so young for her year. I've no idea what to expect! Can anyone shed some light on criteria?

They want to check she looks normal.

And rather more importantly, that you do too.

Ours had this for reception. She's also very young for her year.

She was three. They took her into the pre-school class without us for 40 minutes. They don't tell you what they were looking for but I'm guessing it was listening to the teacher, cooperating with another child, that sort of thing.

Ah ok - I'm hoping it'll be something more "hands on" than expecting a 2yr old to sit still in an teacher's office for half an hour!

Just wanted to update - DD had a formal assessment (language, fine motors, numbers etc) and some observation and she passed. Starts this term. Over the moon - she loved it.
