How much fuss do I make?

DD (9) started her periods a few weeks ago

I spoke to her teacher about it & asked for a bin to be put in her loos (they have separate loos for each year) and they said they would

She started her 2nd period yesterday & there are still no loos in yr4 toilets

Now she dealt with it and went to yr6 loos but was questioned why she was there

So do I make a fuss - obv she won't be there next year - & I guess yr5 loos will have a bin

But I am upset by it & the lack of thought & consideration that the school has had

What should I do?

Put it in writing.

3rd line should read "bins" not "loos"

Agree. Put it in writing. Even though your dd will not be in Yr 4 for much longer, there will be other Yr 4s next year who may need them straight away in September. I suspect they may be stalling slightly for time and will have it sorted by September. Better to make sure though. Also, don't assume that Yr 5 has the bins - put that request in writing too.

Sounds like she handled it brilliantly and very maturely. Well done Katymac's dd.

Not surprised you are upset, very thoughtless of them. Esp. questioning why she was there. I'd remind the school firmly but politely that there are good reasons to put bins for san towels in the loos and make sure girls who need them can use them.

I wasn't sure if I was being a mean cow

But it is hard for DD to start so early & I was hoping that the school could show a bit of respect (iyswim)

Letter writing here I come
