My LO school have a reading challenge where each week they get a small treat for reading 5x (extra bit of playtime) then this week cos its the end of term if theyv had 25 reads over the term their big treat today is they get to go in their own clothes and do an activity outside.
Now...i can see it from both sides... my LO is very excited today to get his reward and its been a great incentive on days when hes said he cant really be bothered 2 remind him of the end reward.
However.... there are a handful who havent quite managed it... parents are saying its appaling to single out young children - looks like maybe a handful per class. That its pressure on the parents. That sometimes life simply get its in the way.
Just wondered peoples thoughts.
