Private School East of Bath

Hi, my family and I are moving back to the UK having lived overseas for ten years. My husband will be working in Bath and commuting overseas. We don't want to live in Bath itself and are looking fora private for our children (8 and 10), offering Prep and Senior. Having lived overseas all their life we are worried how they will adjust to living in the UK, having attended an international school. Any recommendations? Any any suggestions on where to live would be hugely helpful too! Thank you :-)

Hi,
There are no private schools just east of Bath. There are plenty of good ones in Bath itself (Kingswood, King Edwards, Royal High). Prior Park and Monkton Combe have slightly less stringent entry requirements and are on the Southern side and are both good schools. If you’re going East, you’re going to have to go the other side of Bristol for more choice or north of the M4.
Bath is a fantastic city though and loads of great places to live that aren’t directly in the centre. The traffic can be a pain though so if it was me I’d live within an easy commute of my chosen school. Hope this helps.

Heywood Prep in Corsham goes up to year 6. Dauntseys is a senior school east of Bath but about 40 minutes away.Lots travel into Bath from the villages around. Where were you hoping to live?

My DS (7) goes to King Edward's in Bath and it's a fantastic school. He's currently at the Pre-Prep on a separate site in the west of Bath, but will move in September to the Junior School (which is on the east side of Bath and on the same site as the Senior School). He's so happy there and we are very pleased with all aspects of the school. It's academic, but nurturing.

We live in Corsham and there are lots of KES families in this direction - Bathampton, Box, Ashley, Corsham, Chippenham, Marshfield.
