Are there any parents who had to decide between these two schools? And if so what did you decide and why?

all I can say is that there are quite a few ex Garden House girls at Kensington Prep, I don't think the reverse is true.

I don't have direct expericence, but from what I heard, I guess KP is the obvious choice.

I get the impression that they are very different. KP more academic, GH more chelsea princess (this may be phrased harshly!)

If your DD got an offer for Ken Prep - that means she is a bright and academically minded child.
Garden H will not be a great school for her. She might be bored.

I would agree, Kensington Prep hands down.

It is sparky, innovative, academic (if your dd has a place it is right for her) and great fun. Produces ambitious girls.
Garden House is lovely, gentle, very wealthy families (not that KP won't be but slightly different market/type of parent - look at fees!) and traditional.

Look at leavers' destinations too. Both are great, just very different.
